He Whispers Goodnight by Jeff Bidiman As day draws in the deepening twilight, And the Magnificent Maker moves into His throne, Our Savior will wink, and whisper goodnight. Drowsy heads begin drooping and drift off in flight, Waving their wings where angels have flown, As day draws in the deepening twilight. Then happily the heavens will hang in our sight, And from a depthless dome of worlds unknown Our Savior will wink, and whisper goodnight. Heavenly Father, looking down from His height, Sees the lofty and lowly lay themselves prone As day draws in the deepening twilight. Now the world may mourn the vanishing light, But as it bemoans the blot on its tone, Our Savior will wink, and whisper goodnight. So let dream denning eyes rest in delight, And remember you're never, ever alone. As day draws in the deepening twilight, Our Savior will wink, and whisper goodnight. |
