God Said, No! by Sylvia Wilson © 2009 Never, never did I ever believe, I'd always, be thinking of you. I still see you smile, and I hear your voice Each moment, and in everything that I do. I knew it then, and I know it now, You put a spell on me, You'd say my name, and touch my heart You were a soothing light, I could see. I still don't understand just how, You captured my heart so fast. Perhaps it was not meant to be, Because it didn't last. Time has gone on, and life has changed, For you, and now for me I've learned to understand just why, God said, "You and I could never be!" |
