DOWN ON MY KNEES by Jeannine McMullen DOWN ON MY KNEES Down on my knees As the tears flow free Feeling so unworthy Of Your love and mercy Feeling my life is worthless Drowning in emptiness Crying out for forgiveness In the night's darkness Everything I have ever done Never wanting to hurt anyone Yet I am the one crying out When no one is about Asking if it be Your will To forgive me still Knowing I may have hurt someone Asking Your will be done Longing for Your love to surround me Giving everything to Thee Needing the cleansing flood Of thy precious blood Yet the tears continue to fall As I give my heart my soul my all Trusting You to heal As in tears there I kneel Your tender touch in my soul Taking away guilt, making me whole For I have taken the first step crying out for Your help It is all You ask of me As I surrender myself to Thee For You paid the price By Your willing sacrifice You gave Yourself for me Now I give myself to thee Set free from the guilt and pain Washed in Your blood that fell like rain Your love surrounds me You have heard my plea Thank You Lord for Your mercy Thank You Lord for accepting me Thank You for forgiving me my sin Thank You Lord for entering in To a heart so full of guilt Now on You my hope is built I pray for You to lead and guide And let me never leave Your side For every time I kneel in prayer I know You are always there Jeannine Faith |
