Hear My Tears
by Kathleen Higham

I am wallowing again
Swallowed up in this sin
You have Your hand on me
The evil one cannot win.

Having lost all understanding
Of why I always fail
Every day remains the same
Following this murky trail.

My sin begins insidiously
Just a glimmer of a thought
Before I get control of it
Snared, again I'm caught.

Then I feel a gentle tug
That pulls me straight to You
My prayers become a life-line
God helps me see this through.

There can be no hope for me
Until I surrender all
Your hand holds me tight
Lifts me when I fall.

Lord I come to You once more
My weary soul will seek
Even when my sin remains
In a heart pitifully weak.

Your love conquers always
As You brush my sin aside
Especially when I wallow
You hear the tears I've cried.

Soothing and so comforting
The hand that wipes the tear
Amazing what You've done for me
I have nothing left to fear.
