I Ain't What I Was
by Linda T Reich

I ain't what I was
And I'm relieved.
I started to change
When I first believed.

It started out slow,
Seemed all uphill,
But I kept on going
As Christians will.

I may have slowed down,
Even faltered
But I laid down my life
On the altar.

I ain't where I wanna be
But it's full steam ahead.
I'll never give up
Until the day I'm dead.

I'm running this race,
And I'm gonna win.
I belong to Jesus
Not to sin.
