Be Set Free
by Deborah Smith Plemmons © 2009

I'm tired. I'm weary. I worry a lot.
I've worked hard to have what I got.
I try to do things on my own.
I fail and give up, of which I'm prone.

Who can free me from this worrisome life?
I'm tired of all this turmoil and strife.
Is there any hope out there for me?
I need someone--anyone--to set me free.

You say that Jesus can do all this?
He can give me a life of happiness?
Tell me, what do I have to do?
Nothing? Oh, can this be true?

It's true. Jesus paid it all for me,
When He died that day on Calvary.
I accept His payment for my sin.
I repent and now I'm cleansed within.

Why live a life of endless pain?
For in the end, there'll be no gain.
Trust Jesus and He'll set you free
From a troubled life and hopeless eternity.
