A Christian's Prayer
by Robert Hedrick

I'd rather be in the prayers of a Christian, than in a rich man's will,
For those prayers can supply the needs that money could never fill.
Prayers can bring the peace that daily, man's wealth searches for,
Allowing us to see the many blessings that we had missed before.

Then it's a Christian's duty and privilege to pray for those in need,
Asking God to be with each of their concerns, for Him to intercede.
For I've been on a number of prayer lists during my time on earth,
Now, I have the honor of praying for others, since my second birth.

While technical abilities lets man communicate on into outer space,
A Christian's prayer travels futher and nothing will take it's place.
Then for those having the right number, this line's open at any time,
Willing and able to take the most important messages of every kind.

Then, as things happen in my life and bring certain needs to be met,
I want to be on a Christian's prayer list, to get the best help I can get.
For the pleasures that man's gold brings for a season, will disappear,
While the treasures of God will go with us after we leave from here.
