God Smiles by Kathleen Higham A place of quiet contentment Where only God could know Designed with complete perfection In her body I would grow. Then on that very special day He brought me to this place Where loving arms held me close Whispered kisses on my face. Before my mind understood He created this exquisite other Sitting securely on her lap Smiles when He calls her mother. Many years have come to pass As I think lovingly of her When all else is forgotten My mother was there for sure. In those moments of uncertainty She tended to me with care Reaching down to pick me up On her lap a story she'd share. Her job was so incredible She stood in for God awhile Until my heart could understand And my soul would reconcile. God was gracious with this gift There will never be another On her lap He puts a child Smiles when He calls her mother. |
