Complete by Kathleen Higham Born into this world Precisely when fear unfurled Or possibly not so Who could truly know? Hours, days, months, years Life unravels burning tears Knowledge, pain, joy, love Balance fleeting from above. Searching but cannot cease Skirts the very edge of peace Elusions yet solidly there Unable to just not care. Time, study, earned a career Trust, need, doubt, fear Life, churns with desire Success one could acquire. Accomplishment others say Work hard, then play. Pride, honor, and respect But deep down, neglect. Neglect? Giving my all Privately I slip and fall In my weak place I go Are you friend, or foe? This life, a crucial test Surrendered my very best Surely there must be more What am I here for?
