Butterfly by Patricia Joan Polhans I am like a butterfly all wrapped in a cocoon But one of these days I will blossom and bloom. I'll show my true colors become a great high tower As I perch myself upon a dandy, little flower. The shell that surrounds me will no longer hinder me For at just the right season God will set me free. My wings will sprout forth from my spiritual cocoon And I'll be a beautiful monarch soon and very soon. My chains will be broken, that thing entangling me And I will be sent forth to conquer and spread liberty Nothing now can hinder for I am singing like a lark I've been changed from a cocoon to a beautiful monarch. |
