An American's Prayer
by Tom Watson

America, so beautiful, so full of charm,
Bred from freedom’s search, you have arrived fully armed.
In your first cries, loud and full of praise,
You realized your dream, to bask under God’s protection all of your days.

America, does that flag still wave in peace and war with pride,
With reds, whites and blues displayed without shame to hide?
Is E Pluribus Unum still the cry for unity under His Divinity?
Or is it now a rainbow banner proclaiming a potpourri of affinities?

America, is your welcome to the poor and wretched refuse
Still shouted out to a world of terrorists and drug use?
Does the lamp still burn with a fire to guide?
Or is it turned so bright that it creates a glare that hides?

America, land of the free, home of the brave,
Does your constitution still set your standards of how to behave?
Or are your judges now empowered beyond your bill of rights,
And are the voices of the people only heard if approved in their sight?

America, born of a dream of God fearing families,
Do you still understand those things that made you free?
Or are you lost in the mire of political correctness
And soiled in the perversity of Satan’s madness?

God bless America, and forgive her sins…
Remove the clouds those who blasphemy You have brought in.
Allow her not to fall into vengeance and impropriety’s temptations;
Empower her to live the dream that started her as a nation.
