Sam the Sausage Dog

Every day the farmer's wife would bring some food scraps to the back door. She always put the scraps into a little basket that she had taught Sam to carry on his nose. It was Sam's job to pick up the basket and carry it back to his Mum and Dad, and then bring the empty basket back in the evenings.
