Garry's home, as you probably know, was a large apple,   which Mrs. Smith had left on the kitchen shelf and forgotten about. It was an interesting shelf, because it held a clutter of things which Garry liked to explore. There was a bowl of sugar, and some matches, a pile of ribbons, a cotton reel and several china ornaments.
