Proverbs 13:24 Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them. Some people want to call spanking "hitting." But we must reconcile verses like these. Hitting is spanking while you are angry. Spanking is controlled and for the purpose of changing the child's behavior.
