1 Corinthians 12 says the church is one body with many parts. We all have different gifts and that we need to fulfill our function in the church and the world. No one person can do all the functions there are, but we can all work together to accomplish the task of Jesus in the world. Some people don't know their gifts, though. It's important to find out what your purpose is and then find a way to fulfill your use. If I didn't know I was a hammer I might not try hammering, I might not try anything. But if I know I'm a hammer and then I ring something to hammer I just might see that it feels good to hammer. If I live with purpose I will be happier. I may think I'd be happier doing what ever in the world I felt like, but it's not true. After a while I will want for purpose, feeling like all of life is futility. It would be fun for a while, but not fulfilling.
