Wording of this Handout:

When a lizard comes walking close to a gull's nest what usually happens is "Gulp" and no lizard!

But there is a lizard which can go right up to a gull's nest, and even walk around in it while the baby gull is there and the parents are watching!

The lizard is called a Wall Lizard, and it lives around the Mediterranean Sea. The gulls there make their nests out of a few sticks, high up on rocky cliffs, and the lizard climbs up to the nests and checks them out.

The lizard eats all the little insects in and around the nests, which is good for the gull and its chicks - and the lizard gets a free meal.

But how does a gull know that this lizard is not to be eaten? The answer is in the Bible. God made all the animals, and He put wisdom into them so they would know what to do.
