Wording of this Handout:
When you breath, you use oxygen.
Almost every living thing on earth needs oxygen too. It is so important that if there was too little oxygen, life on earth would be wiped out.
Where does the oxygen come from?
One place is plants. When a plant is busy warming itself in the sunshine, it is also turning the sunlight into sugar, and while it does that it also makes oxygen.
Plants also need something called carbon dioxide. That is a gas which is usually mixed with the air.
Where does carbon dioxide come from?
One place is animals. When animals breath they use oxygen and at the same time they get rid of carbon dioxide.
Just like a Merry-go-round! The plants make oxygen for the animals and the animals make carbon dioxide for the plants.
When God created this world, He made it so that nothing was ever wasted.
