What can one person do in this great big world?
One person can do a lot, if he or she is determined enough! Take Mrs Arlene Howard, of Dayton, Ohio.
One day, Mrs Howard and her husband picked up their daughter from a basketball game. As the daughter flipped. through the radio stations, she came across Radio Z93. A message was being broadcast which Mrs Howard knew was wrong. It was aimed at teenagers, and it upset her that a station should be able to say such things without a conscience.
Mrs Howard became angry, so she rang the station, and asked if she could talk to the program director.
Over the next two weeks she spoke several times to the director, but nothing was done about the messages, so Mrs Howard found some other people who also objected to what the station was saying, and billboards were posted up around town.
Next, Mrs Howard started ringing the people who supported the station with advertising. She asked them to remove their ads, and explained why. They agreed with her, and stopped.
Well, a Radio station needs money, so the manager was now worried. He called Mrs Howard and asked her to apologise for what she was doing, but she couldn't, because that would be like saying she agreed with what the station was doing.
She continued to ring sponsors, and they continued to withdraw money, until the station director apologised to Mrs Howard, and also said sony on air, to all its listeners,
Mrs Howard, when she heard the news, said "To God be the glory. When we are obedient to Him, He is faithful to us"
So you see, one person can do quite a lot, if he or she is determined enough!
