Wording of this Handout:
There was once a house on fire, and inside the house were three people: a young man and a young woman and an old old grandfather. The fire-engine arrived soon enough and a fireman rushed to the house. He got out his axe and smashed the door down. The first room he came to had the old old grandfather in it. 'Don't save me!' said the old old grandfather. 'Why not?' said the fireman. 'Because it is better if you rescue the young man and the young woman. They are strong, but I am just a weak old man' 'Why should I save the strong and leave the weak?' asked the fireman. 'Because the strong have much to give to the world; much more than the weak' 'But tell me' said the fireman, 'What sort of use do you think the strong ought to be to the world?' 'The strong should help the weak' said the old old grandfather. 'Then I must help you! said the fireman, lifting the old old grandfather up in his arms and carrying him first from the burning house.
