This Is A True Story - Believe It Or Not!

A few years ago a man - a Christian - was walking along a street in a city. He suddenly heard what he thought was God speaking to him.

"Say John 3:16 out loud!"

The man did what he was told

"for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life!"

The Man walked on, feeling a bit silly.

"Say it again!"

The man did what he was told.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life!"

The man hoped God would not ask him to say the verse a third time!

Two years later the man was at a conference. He was a pastor, and so he was allowed to speak to all the people who had come to the meeting.

"Two years ago" he said, "I had the strangest thing happen to me! I was walking along the street when I felt sure that God wanted me to say John 3:16 out loud, so I did. I felt very silly, but then God told me to say it again. So I did, and then I went on through town, and I never found out why God had got me to do this."

After the conference, a woman came up to the man.

"This i s amazing!" she said, "Two years ago I was standing in my garden, and wondering about God. I asked Him to help me believe in Him, so I said "God, if you're there, please let me know!"

"And just then I heard a verse from the Bible. Someone was saying the verse from behind the fence!"

"I said "God, if that's really you, please do it again!"

"When I heard the words the second time I got to my knees and asked Jesus into my life!"
