AROUND THE TIME OF JESUS

A great deal of 'magic' was mixed with medicine.

THe great Greek doctor Hippocrates made up the oath which doctors still say today - the oath puts the life and welfare of the patient above all else.

Vinegar mixed with gall was used as a painkiller.

Most medicines were made from herbs, such as the frankincense and myrrh presented to baby Jesus.

They also used toothpaste, made of powdered bones, or oyster shells mixed with honey.

But Jesus could cure anyone of anything with just a word or a touch - even restore limbs, eyes or ears, and even raise the dead. No wonder He is called the "MASTER!"
