Wording of this Handout:

Suppose you made a puppet and then named it and pretended to speak for it. Your puppet would take on its own personality and become a character a little bit like you, but also little bit different from you.

Your puppet would be able to move, and speak, and communicate. It might get angry, or sad, or laugh. It would be a sort of reflection of yourself, but it would not be able to do anything unless you gave it the energy.

The Bible says God made humans in His own "image". This word can be translated as "shadow". A shadow is an exact shape of a solid object, but it is flatter. A shadow can move, and do everything in a flat way that the three-dimensional object can do in its three-dimensional way.

In a similar way, God is multi-dimensional, but He has made humans in only four dimensions. We are a bit like God, but nowhere near as perfect, or wise, or powerful. We are powered by God, but we are not puppets. We have the freedom to choose to be more like God, or less like Him.

And remember, people don't have to be Christians to be like God. Even the worst humans on earth can show kindness, forgiveness, mercy, love and so on.

The Bible says: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works" Ephesians 2:10 (King James version)
