Prophecies of Jesus.

In the Old Testament, there are over 300 prophecies (Predictions) about Jesus. Before we start to look at some of these, just think of the chances of all 300 coming true! If you or I made some predictions - even about the score for a coming rugby game - we would probably get it wrong, yet 300 times God predicted the future and got every prediction right!

In the Old Testament, we are told that Jesus would:

Be born of a woman's seed but not of a man's.
Be called the Son of God.
Be a direct descendant Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, of the tribe of Judah.
Be from the line of Jesse, of the family of David.
Be born of Bethlehem.
Narrowly escape being killed as a baby.
Be called a prophet, a judge and a king.
Be announced by a messenger (John the baptist).
Do miracles, teach parables.
Rise from the dead, ascend to heaven.
Be betrayed by a friend.
Be sold for 30 pieces of silver
and so on.

Detail by detail the old Testament gives us the story of Jesus, sometimes 400 years before it happened, and sometimes as far back as nearly 4000 years back. (Go on, you try making a (sensible) prediction today that will happen in 4000 years!)

300 predictions is still not enough to convince me!
