Wording of this Handout:

There are MANY ways of witnessing. You don't have to go about telling people the gospel all the time. That would probably drive them away. Fish won't take the bait if they are not hungry.

On the other hand it's no use saying nothing and HOPING people are saved! If you aren't actively showing Jesus to the world, you might as well not be a Christian - if there's no difference between you and them, why bother thinking you have something to offer?

One very effective way to witness is lifestyle: how you speak, what words you say, how you behave, what you do, how you dress, what your tastes in music, movie and theatre are.

Another effective way of witnessing is the gospel tract. This can be a personal testimony, or some topical item with a Christian ending. I once did a tract for a Christian 'surfie' who took a pile of them around the beaches of New Zealand. You can easily type something yourself and have it photocopied, then either give it away, letterbox it, or pin it up somewhere for other people to read.

If you are too shy to personally witness, you can invite people to places, events, homes, concerts or whatever where someone else can do the job instead.

The Bible says: "How can they hear without someone to preach to them?" Romans 10:14 (New International version)
