Wording of this Handout:
Keep going regardless.
Persistence is a wonderful thing. It means keeping on trying long after everyone else has given up. It means believing in what you are doing long after everyone else has turned away.
It was persistence which motivated Jesus for his three years of public ministry. It was persistence which kept him on the cross, even when it looked as if he had totally failed. His friends were fled, his enemies were mocking, and the Romans couldn't care less - but Jesus kept going.
When we really believe something, we ought to stick to it, because persistence is usually, but not always rewarded with success. If we give up too soon we will never know.
