Forgiveness
One lovely thing I have noticed about little children is their ability to forgive and forget really quickly. In fact, if they do something wrong on Monday, and receive a punishment for it, the chances are they will hardly even remember what they did on Tuesday!
They also forgive the mean things other people do to them without resentment or thoughts of revenge. It is only as children get older that they start to remember, and resent, and look for payback, and by the time we are adults, some things are never forgotten, and some old people carry resentment most of their lives!
God is not like this at all. When He forgives, it is for ever. And there is no limit to what he can forgive, or the number of times He forgives -provided we are truly sorry each time.
I'm sorry
I forgive you
I'm sorry
I forgive you
The Bible says "But there is forgiveness with you"
(Psalm 130:4 New King James Version)
