Bread and water.

Jesus often said mysterious things. This was because he always used the same sort of language as the prophets or the Old Testament. He spoke in riddles, or parables, and he always had some deeper meaning hidden there for people who wanted to dig for it. On the surface he always made sense, but people who thought about is for a while, soon realized that he meant more than on thing.

One example was food.

Now you and I are used to eating and then feeling satisfied. We fill our tummy and stop, then we go a few hours until we need to fill up again. This is natural hunger.

But humans are not animals, so they have anther type of hunger - a spiritual one. This is obvious, because all round the world people show religious behavior, worshipping idols, or stars, Nature, or leaders, gods, goddesses, teachers or objects.

Jesus set himself up as the food for all spiritual hunger when he called people to feed on himself.

Two good meals

The Bible says "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty."
(John 6:35 New International Version)
