Abraham's sacrifice.

After many years, finally, Abraham had a son. At last the promises were beginning to come true. How Abraham must have loved the boy!

Then came the day when the boy was grown into a youth, and suddenly God told Abraham to offer him as a sacrifice. What a ghastly day. All of Abraham's hopes dashed. All this dreams, all his pride, all his fatherly love for the young man - crumbling into ashes!

But early the next morning Abraham set off with his son, and two servants, and a load of wood, and headed for mount of Moriah. Every step of the way Abraham felt the death of his son. FOr three long days they journeyed. Every time he glanced at the boy he realized this was the last time he would see him alive.

But when they reached the mount, Abraham said something remarkable. to the servants he said "You stay here, and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you." The Hebrew grammar means "We will come again" which shows that Abraham now realized that not even death could stop God's promises from coming to pass.

It was this faith which God praised Abraham for. Abraham spoke as he believed, not as he saw with his eyes.

I believe that God is my father and I am his child so even if I die I will live for ever!

Is there a doggy heaven?

The Bible says "And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son." Genesis 22:10 (King James Version)
