Dinosaurs in the Bible?

We know God created the dinosaurs, and we know which day he did this on (day 6), and we know they must have gone on to Noah's ark because the Bible says God brought two of every kind of land-creature to the ark, but the Bible doesn't' use the word "dinosaur" to describe these animals.

This is because the word "dinosaur" wasn't invented until 1840. It means "terrible lizard." Another word, which is in the Bible, is "dragons," and there are stories from all around the world of people meeting "dragons" and often killing them. (For example the Chinese dragon, and Saint George and the dragon).

But in the book of Job, chapters 40 and 41 are two descriptions of two huge animals, which, if you try to draw them with a pencil on a sheet of paper, turn out to be very similar to dinosaurs. The behemoth and the leviathan, both tremendous creatures, both powerful, both armed with scales and massive legs, and both held up by God as examples of his power and strength.

God tells us about the behemoth and leviathan so we will appreciate the power he has to create things like this. Everything God made tells us something about him.

You're a nice doggy!

The Bible says "And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind" Genesis 1:24 (New King James Version)
