034 - Hungry babies

Are you hungry for milk?

When a normal, healthy baby is born, it needs several things to be content: warmth, comfort, and food. Very soon after it is born a baby is ready to begin suckling. It has an inbuilt instinct to feed, and the mother provides the perfect food.

But sometimes you come across Christians - or at least people who say they are Christians - who show no enthusiasm towards God, or any interest in reading the Bible. This is very strange, because when we become Christians, we are "born again" - that means we become spiritual babies, and what does a baby need when it is born?

God's Word it the "milk for babies. It is also "solid food" for growing children, and when we are mature, the Bible gives us everything else.

Check your heart, and see if you are hungry for God's Word. If you are, then you must be a healthy child of God...but if not, there is definitely something wrong with you.
