How big was Noah's ark?

I was in a Christian bookshop one day when I saw a book about Noah's ark. It was a beautifully illustrated book for young readers, and on the cover was a cute little ark - the sort you might float in your bath tub, along with a rubber ducky. I went to the manager and asked if this book was not perhaps misleading children as to the true size of Noah's ark, and he agreed with me.

You see, the world is always very happy to make fun of God's Word. If unbelievers can distort, destroy what the Bible says, they will do it without a qualm, so Christians ought to say it like it is. If they don't no-one else will!

Noah's ark was HUGE. It was about 140 metres long, 23 metres wide and about 13.5 metros high. Try stepping in out for yourself - go on, start striding out the length of the ark with one-metre strides. 140 of them.

Noah's ark was so big it could have held 432 double-decker busses! So, obviously, there was plenty of room for the animals - and don't forget that Noah did not have to include fish, insects or birds - only the land-animals, suck as sheep, cattle, cats, dogs, dinosaurs and so on. You see, if we stick to the dimensions given by the Bible, the whole story become much more reasonable.

The Bible says "By faith Noah, being warned by God of thing not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared and ark... " Hebrews 11:7
