Wording of this Handout:
God made elephants
God has a great imagination! Every snowflake and star and leaf and raindrop is different, every grain of sand is different, and every wave that breaks is different! Everywhere we look we see infinite variety, even though there are similarities too.
And elephants are no exception. They are all different, they all have their own 'personality', even though they all look the same as each other.
Elephants can trumpet, scream, growl and rumble. They live to 80. they stick together in families. They can eat up to 200 kg of food in one day.
They have two very long teeth, called tusks, which grow from their jaw. They also sleep standing up because if they lie down their body weight can actually crush their heart.
And they use their trunks as branch-pullers, and for hitting with, and picking up berries and leaves, and for smelling, digging holes, tossed dust, breathing, and squirting water.
If God can make every elephant different, and yet so clever, how much better are you? Elephants are just animals - humans are made in God's image!
The Bible says "You are worthy, O Lord, receive glory and honor and power: for you have created all things, and for your pleasure they are and were created".
- Revelation 4:11
