Contentment

Imagine a well fed cat curled up in front of a fire. It is a contented creature because it has all it needs.

Now imagine the same cat sitting in the rain outside the door, hungry, wet, and cold...

People are different. Some people can have everything they want - full tummy, nice clothes , good house, steady job, wife, kids, good income, etc, yet still grizzle and complain about life! On the other hand, there are people who just accept the daily toil and troubles that come their way as a part of life, and never complain.

Contentment is not a matter of ignoring things, It is not a strange mind-trick either, because contented people know the facts. They may be poor, or sick, or struggling with something, and they will admit openly that these problems exist.

So what is the secret to contentment?

Well first of all we have to learn how to be content.

And secondly, it helps if we believe we are where the Lord wants us, doing what He wants us to do.

The Bible says, " I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances."
Philippians 4:11
