Wording of this Handout:
Being Good
It usually takes a long time before Christians (people who have decided to put Jesus first in everything) work out just what they are meant to be doing in the world. There is so much to learn, and God usually takes many years to get to know!
But one really simple thing, which is also overlooked an awful lot, is the fact that Christians are supposed to be "good" people.
So what does it mean to be "good"?
Being "good" (or "righteous") means being honest, helpful, kind, trustworthy, diligent, hard-working, thoughtful, reliable, punctual, law-abiding, faithful and so on. It means being a dependable person, a person who keeps their word.
The Bible says, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers."
1 Timothy 4:12
