Israel

by kevon bryan

My heart beats wild as the days draw near
Sunset, sunrise, then its all here
A tear from my eye falls for the fawn deer
Who walk on the walls of the final frontier

From zion to mount sier rivers run clear
But blood from the blood moon maketh sangria
The wolf and the fox trot as the sun nears
They dance as they wale to whoever has ears

The call and the swift swoop maketh all fear
The birds in the sky lark every marked soul
So we wade in the caves til our wisdom grows old
And save for the days when the grain is worth Gold

A'layed in the dust of the dawn we proclaim
And arrayed in a sackcloth and a rough rainment
Staved for the day when His feet grace the pavment
Grovel and bleet like a sheep who is shameless

The kings cloak falls on the weak and the stain-less
But wrath there abides for the cheat and the brazen
Sing Him a psalm to a beat which is laiden
With love from a heart with a heat that is blazing

Weep like a dove in a secret attainment
Of love for the One who is meet for acclaiment
Fall to His feet in a deepened abasement
And crawl through the streets with bawl which is meet

For the One who was hung for their brief entertainment
All of my speech is impeached in a statement
Of truth from the mouth of One True Son
The one who has come to the earth for a reason

For I am an ass and unlearned heathen
But God giveth breath and the rains in their season
The broom tree is home and the grass I have eaten
My nails groweth long and my hair is for cleaning
