Precious Memories Of Dad

by Margaret Cagle

My dad resides in Heaven now,
But precious memories linger on.
I think about him everyday.
He's not forgotten, although gone.

He taught me to do my best
And to always do what's right.
He taught me to love the Lord
With my heart and all my might.

My dad was just a simple man.
The world never called him great,
But to me he was a great man,
Loved by his children and his mate.

Friends called him "Mr. Charlie,"
And he was loved by everyone.
He worked hard to provide for Mom
And five daughters and one son.

I know Dad is happy up in Heaven,
Though I miss him more and more.
One day I will see my dad again
When I reach that Golden Shore.
