I’m asked, in fact quite often
Isn’t it boring staying home?
What do you do all day, anyway?
Don’t you feel so all alone?
It’s not the way you view it
Comes my justified reply
And though they’ll never understand
I begin to tell them why
Once home, from taking the kids to school
And my door opens with my key
Jesus walks into the house with me
So I do have company
How can you think it’s boring
To entertain a King?
Sometimes I write a poem to Him
Sometimes I simply sing
We pray and talk, then I do my chores
And Jesus, God’s own Son
Helps me with each one I do
Till we get the whole job done
I never eat my meal alone
God’s always there with me
And I thank Him for the food I eat
For providing so graciously
So, in response to the questions you asked me
I would simply have to say
When I’m conversing with, thanking, and praising the Lord
Bored and lonely have no place in my day
