Prayer for the American Soldier

He closes his eyes, he bows his head,
He rubs his weary brow
Lord, Jesus if there was a time,
Oh how he needs you now.

Faithfully fighting this battle
Please Father could you try
To bring this conflict to an end
Bring silence to the sky.

Being away from his loved ones,
A day's a million years.
I now lift him up to You Lord
Please calm his every fear.

Bombs ring constant in his distance
Still startles at each sound
Savior, please either come back soon
Or turn this world around.

Father comfort and protect him
Continue to guide him through.
Lord bring him safely to us home
Help him keep his eyes on you.
