July Again

by Pearl Leona Sturgis

Here it is July again.
So many years have passed.
I'm here to say goodbye again...
to free my soul at last.

We never really said goodbye.
I thought you would get well.
Ever since the day you died
I'm like an empty shell.

I need someone to hold me
the way you used to do.
I need someone to love me
the way that I love you.

Your memory is still living
although we're far apart.
God holds you in His Heaven
while I hold you in my heart.
