Glory of God

by Madison Arnold

We can reach,
We can inspire,
We can teach,
We can light the fire.
We can breach
And create desire
And passion; each
Day we conspire
To try to reach
What WE desire.

When will we learn
That God should be
What we yearn?
Things eternal, not any
Thing from this earth.
God Light a fire
In this cold hearth.
Show us Your ways
So maybe we'll turn
Our eyes away
From this old, colorless, burnt,
And back to the big picture,
The true colors of You.
May You become the fixture
Of light and truth.
