Within a Dream

by Michael Carlton

She danced about like a dolphin,
Moves throughout the blue sea.
What does it mean, what does it mean?
I asked myself within a dream.

With her grace, folly free,
Her prayers whispered for me.
What does it mean, what does it mean?
I asked myself within a dream.

Through such strong faith I awaken,
To true reality.
In my wonder I am shaken,
With this mortality.

Please answer me this mystery,
That plays while my eyes rest.
This mortal life is history,
Juxtaposed Angel's Zest.

In the shell of my seclusion,
Sin is my intrusion.
What does it mean, what does it mean?
I asked myself within a dream.

Where ways of life are all but fine,
Lusty taint chills my spine.
What does it mean, what does it mean?
I asked myself within a dream.

This puzzle gathered its meaning,
Refocuses vision.
This dream was my inner cleaning,
Where light makes incision.

The poetry of Truth's movement,
Speaks to me telling 'Love.'

Waging sin leaves all joy absent,
Eclipsed from light above.
