Depends on What You Mean By

by Jeffrey Zachary

It's amazing how some folks can take
a term so black-and-white;
Give a subjective spin and make
What's so wrong seem so right;
Good has no trouble discerning truth
Behind our veil of lies;
While we, mere mortals, act so uncouth-
Believing our ignorance wise.

There's danger in this mode of thought;
'Twould be safety in so knowing;
Heavenly hopes can come to naught;
If earthly seeds you're sowing;
The quality of bread is easy to tell;
By the yeast with which it's leavened;
Me, I'd trade the VERY BEST day in Hell-
For ALL the worst days in Heaven!.
