Good Morning Smile

by Pearl Leona Sturgis
https://www.facebook.com/pearlleona

I wake each morning to a cry...
which seems to say, "I must be dry!"
"Get in here and change me right away!
Grab a diaper and the powder.
Come right now or I'll scream louder!"
Thats the way she starts her average day

I rise from bed and go to her
although to sleep I would prefer.
I'm greeted with a lovely morning smile
I then remove her from her bed
and dress her for the day ahead
After she is dressed I'm not so riled.

Must get Dad off. No time to fool.
Must get the children off to school.
Oh no! Another loud demanding scream!
She seems to say "Mom please arrange
to make another real quick change.
Not after bit but right away I mean"

Then the family leaves the house.
All is quiet as a mouse.
I pick her up and hold her close to me
number 2 Good Morning smile
makes everything seem so worthwhile.
It seems to say I love you don't you see
