Surfers' Watch

Two sentries watch over the cerulean sea
as it slides into its destiny,
spreading out into the crescent sand
as if gently propelled by God's own hand.


With respect for the ocean's tumultuous tide,
they offer thanks for safe passage inside
a cove where currents challenged their will
but let them triumph, their dreams to fulfill.
