Shooting Star

Six people sat round the table that night,
but only one saw an ethereal light
streak through the sky with soundless speed,
lighting the blackness with aching need.


A message of love in a letterless stream
meant for my eyes…a bright divine beam,
bid me warm welcome to paradise fair
and assured me that He would always be there.
