From Riches To Rags

From a stately palace to a squalid shack,
He exchanged great wealth for poverty's lot.
Praise and worship surrendered to stripes on His back.
Angelic adoration changed to creation that loved Him not.

A creature he became, this Creator of the world.
He who lives forever tasted death for every man.
Lips that once did laud, form accusations that are hurled.
Yet it all was part of God's amazing plan.

O, the depth to which God does reach.
He who was rich, for our sake's became poor.
Tis a grand theme that I love to hear preached.
God paid a great price to settle sin's score.

Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

2Corinthians_8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
