No Tomorrows, Only Today

by Deborah Smith Plemmons © 2018

There's always a time of sadness,
When a loved one of ours passes on.
May we daily show our love for them,
Not just when they are dead and gone.

We should care for one another,
Just like there was no tomorrows;
Today, may we show our affections,
For that love will lighten our sorrows.

Whether death comes to a son,
A daughter, a Dad, or our Mother;
We will miss them, when they are gone,
But God will comfort like no other.

God is always there to comfort us,
When our grief seems too hard to bear.
Some day we'll see our loved ones in Heaven,
Then we'll rejoice together up there.
