Divine Dialogue - Amazing Gift

by Scott C McGrath © 2015

Insert
Welcome the sword dividing bone from marrow
Obvert
About face to the longing for the gate that's narrow
Noninert
Shield's raised against the accuser's snaring arrows
Covert
Be alert to the roaring lion's portion of harrow
Evert
Leave your toiling for the gold that shines your barrows

Wantwit
In lust I threw precious pearls to swine
Admit
No more living sacrifice this body was mine
Submit
Dissolved my conscience in glasses full of wine
Legit
But found every Sunday among the righteous kind
Omit
Up for serving God except with heart, soul, or mind

Sunder
The gap between the Lord & this too familiar wretch
Trundler
Navigating my god's left this wineskin stretched
Blunder
Only first I have to fix this inner enslaved letch
Under
Wondered why I followed the dog back to its retch
Thunder
I learned amazing grace is well beyond my fetch

Newspeak
Stumped by the foolishness of carrying this cross
Oblique
Eager to save my life means I'll experience its loss?
Workweek
Even Newton's 2nd law cannot help my soul across
Antique
Ancient our God is but it's us who're at the doss
Mystique
Make way for the tricky part a 3-in-1 boss

Forthright
Aim to live our lives so that we finish His race
Outright
Zion's a good fit if God's will has been embraced
Upright
I died to myself all my old shame not a trace
Night
Now bright shining as the sun in my face
Delight
Going to spend 10,000 years in a blazing place
