When Calm Eludes You

When calm doesn't come,
when peace is far away
I stop what I'm doing
and to my Father, I pray.

Prayer is my refuge,
from the dread inside me
it's where I find comfort
from the fear, I can't see.

When I am anxious,
when my nerves are a mess
I pray without stopping
to rid myself of distress.

I put my trust in God,
till I'm no longer afraid
His unfailing love keeps me
from becoming dismayed.

When calmness eludes you,
when peace seems so far away
the best thing you can do . . .
is stop everything and pray!

1 Thessalonians 5:17

"Pray without ceasing."
