This is Home

by Joy Wieters

How to encompass it?
These feelings inside.
I write as I think-
I've nothing to hide.

I've got memories,
These pages hold gifts,
And tonight as I think of them,
I know my spirit lifts.

For You have always been my God,
My Counsel and my Quest.
My Savior when I'm weary and,
The place where I can rest.

I search for You, belong to You,
Come patiently to wait.
I'm humbled in Your mercy,
And am bound within Your fate.

Your Love's forever healing.
Though You're far beyond my grasp,
You gave Yourself to me,
I'm strongly in Your clasp.

I ask You to give me eyes,
To see the world around-
New within Your beauty,
Yet despair and hurt abound.

I see that in Your mercy,
There's a love that's never dead.
There's a place for meeting solitude,
And place for many friends.

This time, a gift, not called a life-
For life's Eternity -
And now, we here, are a shadow,
Of everything to be.

It shall be good, it shall be sweet,
And color must abound!
The light, the love, the joy of it,
And ohh! that cheerful sound!

I can believe, though've yet to see,
This place I soon shall be.
This is my home- where I belong-
For home's where I'm with Thee.
